Artwork and design

What kind of logo file do you need?

Vector artwork is best, which means a file ending in .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg. A high-resolution .png with a transparent background or a large .jpg will usually work too.

Email it to orders@jrqgear.com or paste a shareable link on the quote form, and we will confirm whether it will work before anything gets made.

What if I don't have a good logo file?

Send what you have anyway. A logo pulled off your own website, a screenshot, or a photo of a business card is a very common starting point.

We will look at it and tell you honestly whether it will hold up at the size you want or whether it needs to be cleaned up or rebuilt first. This is the single most common thing that holds an order up, and it is much easier to sort out at the beginning than halfway through.

Can you put a logo in more than one place on a garment?

Yes. A left chest logo with a second design on the sleeve or the back is a common setup. Bear in mind that each additional design or placement adds cost, so a two-location order prices differently than a single one. Tell us what you are picturing and we will quote it as specified.

Do I get to confirm the details before anything is made?

Yes. We go back and forth with you on the details before anything is produced, and if there is anything about the design, the placement or the garment you want to see or confirm first, just ask.

Pricing

What does it cost?

There is no single price. We work across a wide range of products and decoration methods, and the right fit depends on the job, so we quote each order rather than publishing a chart that would be wrong in both directions.

Two things are always true:

  • The more pieces you order, the less each one costs.
  • Each additional design or logo placement adds cost.

Beyond that it depends on the method. Screen printing carries a one-time setup charge per design, which you do not pay again on a reorder of that design. Embroidery is quoted case by case. Send us what you have in mind and we will come back with real numbers.

Is there a setup charge?

On screen printing, yes. The first run of a given design carries a one-time setup charge that covers getting it ready to print.

Embroidery works differently and is quoted case by case, so ask and we will tell you exactly what your job costs.

Do I pay the screen printing setup charge again when I reorder?

No. Once a design has been set up for printing, it is set up. Order the same thing again next month, next season or next year and that charge does not come back.

Whatever the method, we keep your design on file, so a reorder is the same logo in the same place rather than a fresh interpretation months later.

Does ordering more bring the price down?

Yes, and it is the biggest lever you control. Per-piece pricing improves as the quantity goes up. If you are close to a point where the price changes meaningfully, we will tell you rather than letting you order just under it.

How much does embroidery cost?

Embroidery is quoted case by case right now. What it costs depends on the design, how much stitching it takes, how large it is, the garment it is going on, and how many locations you want it in. Send us the logo and the garment you have in mind and we will price it properly.

Ordering

How do I place an order?

Fill out the quote request form or just email us directly at orders@jrqgear.com, whichever is easier. If we need anything else to price it properly we will come back to you quickly, and once we have what we need we will reply with a quote. Questions at any point, email or call and we will work through it with you directly.

Is there a minimum order?

There is no hard minimum. That said, per-piece pricing improves quite a bit with quantity, so most of what we do is for a team, a staff, a department or a group rather than one or two pieces. If you are unsure whether your order makes sense, ask and we will be straight with you.

How fast can you turn an order around?

It depends on the item and the size of the run, but we are flexible and can usually work around a deadline as long as you tell us about it up front.

If you need gear in hand by a specific date, put it on the quote request and we will tell you right away whether it is doable rather than finding out late.

What if I don't know what I need yet?

That is a normal place to start and it is not a problem. Tell us who the gear is for, roughly how many people, and when you need it. We will come back with a recommendation on the garment and the decoration method instead of asking you to figure it out first.

Products

What can you put a logo on?

Hats, t-shirts, long sleeve tees, polos, quarter-zips, sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, vests, beanies, bags and totes, plus accessories like cups and pens. We will take on pretty much anything that can be branded, so if you have something specific in mind that is not on the list, ask. The answer is usually yes.

What sizes do you carry?

A wide range. Sizes at the outer edges of the run, the larger end in particular, cost a bit more per piece, which is standard across the industry. Give us your size breakdown on the quote request and the pricing we send back will already account for it.

Should I choose embroidery or printing?

Rough rule: embroidery for a polished, durable finish on polos, hats, quarter-zips, jackets and vests, especially anything client-facing or meant to last. Screen printing for large, bold designs on tees and sweatshirts, and for higher quantities where cost per piece matters.

Plenty of orders use both, printed tees for the crew and embroidered polos for whoever meets customers. If you are not sure, say so on the quote request and we will recommend a direction.

Delivery and area

Do you ship, or can I pick up?

Most orders ship. If you are close by, we can sometimes drop off directly, though that depends on our availability that week. Ask when you order and we will tell you what we can do rather than leaving you guessing.

Where are you located?

We are based in the Huntington area of Suffolk County, New York, and work across Long Island.

What areas do you serve?

We are based on Long Island and work throughout Suffolk and Nassau counties, where we can sometimes deliver an order directly. See the areas we cover.

Beyond that, most orders ship, so where you are rarely matters. If you found us from outside the area, get in touch the same way anyone else would.

Working with us

Do you work with small businesses or large companies?

Both. A lot of what we do is small and mid-sized Long Island businesses outfitting a crew or a staff. We also take on larger orders and ongoing programs for companies running multiple locations, recurring uniform needs or onboarding kits, and we want more of that work. Tell us the scope and we will tell you honestly what we can commit to.

Who will I actually be dealing with?

One of us, directly. Send a request and you get a reply from a person who knows your order, by phone or email, whichever you prefer. No call center, no ticket number, no being handed between people.

Can you do something that isn't on your list?

Probably. The list keeps growing and we will take on pretty much anything that can be branded. Choose "Something Else / Not Listed" on the quote form, describe what you are after, and we will tell you what is possible.

Still have a question?
